Woo Hoo!

Jackson had his weight check at the doctors office today. He gained a little over a pound! Yay Jackson! So, now at 19 pounds 2 ounces he is back on the growth chart in the 1 percentile. I try not to hold a lot of stock in the growth chart, but it does make me feel better that he is at least on it. Dr. Jennie said he exceeded her expectations! Of course he always exceeds my expectations. We are so proud of our little cubby! Dr. Jennie say maybe soon we can stop coming in every month. That would be great. We have his 15 month check up in about 2 1/2 weeks, so hopefully after that we wont have to go back until his next check up.

I feel fine with where Jackson is, but I'm still working on not letting it upset me when other people say things about how small he is. People will ask if he can sit up and are suprised he can stand up and even walk. They will tell me how their child was 18 pounds at 6 months. I just want to say Thank you, that is really helpful! Mine isn't! I don't think he is THAT small. He looks like a toddler to me, with a toddler body, just a bit smaller. I need to not let little comments bother me and not care so much what people think.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much Jackson! We think you are perfect!

Tip Top Thursday

This week I did pretty good, I lost 1.4 pounds.  So close to my 10 pound mark. I feel really good about how I have done so far.  My clothes fit better, I can even get into some of my old clothes. Yay! It may even be time for a new pair of jeans. Grammy says my bottom is getting saggy. Thanks Grammy! I can always count on you to be honest :)

I don’t have any great words of wisdom. I’m just glad I made it through Easter and this pie without a gain.

Next week I should have some yummy recipes to post. They are on my menu to try out this week, so I’ll let you know.  I’ll also be trying Emily's chicken nuggets. I love that they don’t have any egg in the breading for Jackson.

Keep your fingers crossed, Jackson has another weight check tomorrow.

Also, keep the families of Catoosa County and Ringgold in your prayers. They were devastated by last nights storms and tornados. I’m so glad all of our family is safe, but I know not everyone was as fortunate.

Easter

Friday night Mimi, Uncle Josh, Grammy and Uncle Chris came over and we went out to dinner for Easter since I had to work over the weekend.  The Easter bunny knew that Mommy would want to see Jackson have his Easter basket and came early.

Jackson loved the books and the Juno Baby DVD in his Easter basket!

Then on Sunday Daddy took Jackson to spend Easter with Nan Nan and his family.

Jackson likes carrying around his Easter basket from Grammy.

Jackson and Mimi

I had to include this picture because I think Jackson’s face is so funny!  Jackson and Daddy stopped by Mimi’s house before they headed back home.

Doesn’t Jackson look cute in the Easter outfit I made him?

Tip Top Thursday

This week I lost 1.2 pounds. Every week I get closer and closer to my goal. Maybe by my birthday I can reach my goal? That gives me 7 weeks. Well, maybe that's not totally doable, but hopefully I can be really close. I HAVE to be really good and not slack off.

I was thinking that since Alison, Emily and Grammy are doing WW too, we could share tips and recipes with each other. I would love for my Tip Top Thursday to not just be "hey look what I lost/gained this week". If I tried a new recipe that week and it was good, I'll post it. We can share snack ideas, or any other little tips that might help each other out. What do ya'll think?

Since this weeks meeting was about tracking, how do you track? I tried tracking on the paper they give you at the meeting. I could NOT do it. I find it much easier to track online. I can usually find a few minutes to jump on my laptop and track, even at work I can get online. I admit though that I don't track activity points or hunger, just what I eat. Maybe this week I will try tracking my activity too.

Keep up the good work everyone! We CAN do it!

Tip Top Thursday

Week #4

I had a good week. I lost 2.6 pounds! I guess that makes up for last week.

Now that I have been on Weight Watchers for 4 weeks, I think the biggest thing I have learned and am still working on is portion size. Even thought I may not always make the best food choices, I am careful about how much I eat. I’m still hungry a lot of the time, but I don’t go running for the cookies anymore.

This week too I really feel like I can reach my goal. I realized that every week is closer to where I want to be. I am so thankful too for the support of my family and the encouragement of knowing that my friends (Alison and Emily) are right along with me. It’s nice too that people are starting to notice.

At work about the same time I started WW, a few of the girls started a weight loss competition to get ready for summer and I joined along thinking it would be fun, but not expecting to win. But guess what, I’m winning so far! It was easy for them to laugh at me when I gained a bunch of weight but now they aren’t so happy that I am losing it. It really makes my competitive streak come out and want to kick their butts!

Grammy had a loss this week too! Keep up the good work! You CAN do it!

A whole new world to explore

Today I bought him his first pair of big boy shoes. We went to the lake after daddy got home from work for Jackson to try them out.  He had so much fun looking at everything and exploring.
