Today Jackson played in his new exersaucer. He is really getting good at sitting up in it. He is less wobbly every day. He is also getting really good at grabbing things. And the exersaucer has ALOT of things to grab. I love watching him reach for things and try so hard to get it. I think his favorite part is the music. He can push the buttons to play sounds, but I don't think he realized he is doing it. One of the songs it plays is "Pop goes the weasel". I already sing that to Jackson and he loves it. So today when I sang it to the music he really liked it. He was really close to laughing. We are trying so hard to make him laugh again and he just does NOT think we are funny.
He really does have fun in the exersaucer. Despite the serious look on his face. My camera is too slow to get the good pictures. (No, my new camera still has not come! I hate Wolf camera. I will never order from them again.) Jackson is also learning to turn around in the exersaucer. He made it almost all the way around to play with all of the toys.
Tonight Jackson had another first. His first solid food! Yay Jackson! I wasn't sure how he would do with the spoon, especially since the bottle was such a battle. But he did great! I was so proud of him.
This was his first ever bite of food! He did so good. He opened his mouth for the spoon. And he didn't push the food out of his mouth with his tongue. Both good signs that he is ready for solids. He even smiled after a few of the bites! If I was too slow in giving him another bite he would blow raspberries at me. I ended up with rice cereal on my face a couple times, but that's ok.
(I know there was the same picture twice in there, but I can't figure out how to delete it. I'm still figuring out this whole blog thing.)
Jackson decided he was a big boy and could feed himself. He grabbed the spoon from me a couple times. Can we say Mr. Independant! I think part of the reason he did so good (besides that he is a genius baby!) is that right before I went back to work I taught him to drink from a cup. I wanted a backup since he wasn't taking to bottle very well. He was a pro at drinking from a little cup (the nipple cover to one of his bottles!). Welcome to the world of food Jackson! There are lots of tasty things for you to try! Even better than rice cereal and breastmilk!
