We are back from our trip to Savannah and Tybee Island. We had so much fun! Jackson LOVED the beach! I still have to go through all of our pictures ( we took 495 pictures!). But, here is a sneak peak…

Much Needed Getaway
Tomorrow morning (Wednesday) we are leaving for a short, but much needed mini-vacation to Savannah. It’s just for one night, but we are so excited to get away. This trip is for my birthday/our anniversary. We plan to go to Tybee Island one day and around Savannah one day. This will be Jackson’s first trip to the beach! I decided at 7 pm last night that we could not possibly go away with out a cute new beach picture taking outfit for Jackson. So, I sewed one up last night and finished it today. Then, of course I had to sew a dish mat today too. That was much more important than packing. Haha! So, now it’s 11 o’clock and I’m up packing (and writing on my blog). I’ll show you my very important sewing projects when we get back.
Since we’ll be gone, I won’t be going to WW on Thursday. So, no Tip Top Thursday this week. I’ll catch up next week.
Have a good week!

Mr. Independent
Whenever Daddy has a glass of water Jackson loves to drink out of it like a big boy. In the bath Jackson likes to drink out of his play cups. And he likes to lean over and drink the bath water like a dog. (Please tell me I am not the only one who’s child drinks the bath water.)
So, I thought maybe I should get Jackson a big boy cup to practice drinking out of. I also got him some spoons to practice eating with.
Today was the big day to try out his new cup and spoon!
He loved drinking out of his cup!
I love his face in this one, so I had to include it.
Overall Jackson did great drinking out of the cup. Aside from a some dribbles down his front (hence the towel) he didn’t spill at all. He didn’t even dump the cup over or throw it like he does his sippy. I’m not ready to get rid of the sippy cups, but I thinks it’s good for him to practice drinking from a real cup and he loves being a big boy.
After our cup trial, I let him try his new spoon with some yogurt. That didn’t excite Jackson as much.
But, soon he caught on and did really good.
I really liked these spoons because they are easy for him to hold and the food clings to the spoon so he doesn’t have to scoop it up too. He can just dip it in the food. And they have a guard so he can’t gag himself.
My baby is growing up too fast!
We also went to story time today at a local bookstore. Jackson had lots of fun, but he has become so shy lately. He hides his face when anyone talks to him and clings to Mommy. We met one of my friends from work there. After a moment of shyness, he reached up and wanted her to hold him. I guess he liked her. Then he tried to hug her 2 year old little girl. My little Romeo!

Tip Top Thursday- Friday edition
I did go to Weight Watchers yesterday. I just didn’t get the post up since we went to the zoo afterward. And to be honest I was putting it off.
I gained 0.6 pounds this week. I guess I should be glad it wasn’t more. WARNING: major whining about to happen! I’m tired of eating healthy. I’m tired of counting points. I’m tired of WW meetings. I’m hungry. I just want to eat.
Ok. I’m done.
At the same time, I am starting to feel cute again. I know that is vain, but I haven’t felt cute in a really long time. Some of my old clothes are starting to fit. I don’t want to undo everything I have done. So, I’m not giving up. I’ll get back on track this week.

Zoo
Today Daddy surprised us by coming home at lunch time. We made a quick decision to go to the zoo! Since we rarely get time together we wanted to make the most of our day together.
We started off at the flamingos.
Jackson got up close with a giraffe.
At the children’s zoo section we saw some pigs.
Jackson and Mommy petted the goats.
We also rode the train, but we didn’t get any pictures that I’m willing to put up :)
Jackson and I made an appearance on Meerkat Manor.
Jackson liked watching those silly meerkats!
We saw the pandas and some bird I don’t remember the name of.
We saw elephant behinds and giraffes and zebras from afar.
Mommy made sure Jackson got to meet Willie B!
Jackson had lots of fun!
But was hot and sleepy by the end.
Somehow a snake slithered into the stroller and followed us home. Much to Mommy’s dismay :)
It was a great first trip to the zoo!

Silly Boy
Saturday night before he went to bed, Jackson had an outburst of silliness. He took his pants off and then put them on his head! He was so proud of himself he started running around the living room and kitchen. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen!
Then today the silliness continued. I was sitting on the couch and I heard crunching coming from the kitchen. When I got up to see what it was, this is what I found…
Oh how I love that boy!!

Memorial Day
We spent Memorial Day at Grammy and Grandpa’s house. Mimi and Uncle Josh came over too. It’s always nice to get the whole fam together!
I bought a little baby pool at Target for like $5 a few days ago, so I brought it with us. I also put Jackson’s new swim trunks and his shades on. I was surprised he kept them on for more than 2 seconds. I think he felt really cool with big boy shades on!
Jackson did NOT like his pool at first. He screamed and cried and wanted OUT! I was surprised because he really likes taking a bath. After a few minutes he walked over to the pool and climbed in and the fun began! I guess he just had to do it on his own terms.
Here he is contemplating the pool (with his cute little crack!).
Grandpa watched from the bench he built that morning.
Now he likes the pool!
This is what Daddy was doing while Jackson was swimming.
I didn’t get pictures of anything else, but we had lots of fun grilling out and enjoying all of Jackson’s cuteness! He also said “mimi” for the first time! And when I told him we were going to Grammy’s he said “nom nommy’s” Such a cute boy!
