Tip Top Thursday

I managed to squeak by with a loss this week of 0.6 pounds. While I’m glad for the loss, I’m not at all proud of myself this week. I really fell off on my tracking, I may have accidentally eaten Jackson’s Easter candy and I did not go walking. I KNOW I can do better.  One thing I did do good this week was drink LOTS of water at work. I bought a big 1 liter bottle of water and put crystal light in it on Saturday thinking it would take me all day to drink it. Nope, it was gone by lunch. So, I bought another big bottle and drank that too. I did the same thing on Sunday. I was really proud of myself for drinking so much water. But, it stopped there. I went back to diet soda once at home.

Since I told you last week I would post recipes, here are a few of the things I made. I can’t vouch for the points value or that they were even the best choices, but they are what I made.

Sloppy Joes I served these on the sandwich thins bread instead of buns. I have made them a couple times, we really like them.

Fish tacos Holy Moly! These were so yummy!  I made them with tilapia with yellow rice and black beans on the side. And ranch-salsa dressing on top.  I think next time I will try to lighten it up a bit. It made way too much dressing/marinade.  Even Jackson ate the fish, rice and beans.

Beach Street Lemon Chicken This was good, I made it without the parmesan on top. Jackson ate it, too.

We also had our usual whole wheat pasta and meat (ground turkey) sauce.  I think this is Jackson’s favorite meal ever. The boy loves spaghetti. Jackson and I also like to have turkey hotdogs, baked chips and fruit for lunch.

My goals for this week are to get back to tracking, drink more water, and go for more walks. I know I can do it.  By the way, me and one other girl are neck in neck for first place in our weight loss competition at work. I HAVE to beat her!

At the lake again

We went for a walk down to the lake after Daddy got home from work. Daddy bought Jackson a kite this weekend and we wanted to try it out again since it was so windy today. We had a blast! I didn’t get too many pics of Daddy flying the kite, but I did get some of the cub.  He had lots of fun chasing the ducks and carrying a rock! Hahaha!

Woo Hoo!

Jackson had his weight check at the doctors office today. He gained a little over a pound! Yay Jackson! So, now at 19 pounds 2 ounces he is back on the growth chart in the 1 percentile. I try not to hold a lot of stock in the growth chart, but it does make me feel better that he is at least on it. Dr. Jennie said he exceeded her expectations! Of course he always exceeds my expectations. We are so proud of our little cubby! Dr. Jennie say maybe soon we can stop coming in every month. That would be great. We have his 15 month check up in about 2 1/2 weeks, so hopefully after that we wont have to go back until his next check up.

I feel fine with where Jackson is, but I'm still working on not letting it upset me when other people say things about how small he is. People will ask if he can sit up and are suprised he can stand up and even walk. They will tell me how their child was 18 pounds at 6 months. I just want to say Thank you, that is really helpful! Mine isn't! I don't think he is THAT small. He looks like a toddler to me, with a toddler body, just a bit smaller. I need to not let little comments bother me and not care so much what people think.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much Jackson! We think you are perfect!

Tip Top Thursday

This week I did pretty good, I lost 1.4 pounds.  So close to my 10 pound mark. I feel really good about how I have done so far.  My clothes fit better, I can even get into some of my old clothes. Yay! It may even be time for a new pair of jeans. Grammy says my bottom is getting saggy. Thanks Grammy! I can always count on you to be honest :)

I don’t have any great words of wisdom. I’m just glad I made it through Easter and this pie without a gain.

Next week I should have some yummy recipes to post. They are on my menu to try out this week, so I’ll let you know.  I’ll also be trying Emily's chicken nuggets. I love that they don’t have any egg in the breading for Jackson.

Keep your fingers crossed, Jackson has another weight check tomorrow.

Also, keep the families of Catoosa County and Ringgold in your prayers. They were devastated by last nights storms and tornados. I’m so glad all of our family is safe, but I know not everyone was as fortunate.

Easter

Friday night Mimi, Uncle Josh, Grammy and Uncle Chris came over and we went out to dinner for Easter since I had to work over the weekend.  The Easter bunny knew that Mommy would want to see Jackson have his Easter basket and came early.

Jackson loved the books and the Juno Baby DVD in his Easter basket!

Then on Sunday Daddy took Jackson to spend Easter with Nan Nan and his family.

Jackson and Mimi

I had to include this picture because I think Jackson’s face is so funny!  Jackson and Daddy stopped by Mimi’s house before they headed back home.

Doesn’t Jackson look cute in the Easter outfit I made him?
